Mindfulness Touch: Experiencing Connection, Fairfax, CA.
10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Practicing touch we will experience big mind or boundless non-duality —connection between two people. Most touch, as most moments of consciousness, embodies directives and judgments, expressed as, “Go over there.” or “Come over here;” “Calm down,” “Straighten up,” or “Love me.”

We will learn to touch with mindfulness—receiving sensation rather than dispensing directives—and connect with what is. In the course of this we will discover experientially how helping, fixing, diagnosing, correcting (though at times useful and important) all get in the way of true connection through touch.

In the end we will touch what is Divine in one another. (In case you have concerns –this is a course about conscious touch: participants remain fully dressed and are invited to voice any concerns about inappropriate touching or touch that is disconcerting.)

With an exception or two, this course most often provides participants with an awesome experience. Though not necessarily a popular course (as is cooking), the actual experience is profound: important for relationship, connection, consciousness studies, meditation, hands-on healing. Cost: $40. Email Edward to register.

Body and Mind Moving in Harmony: Zen and Qi Gong, retreat at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center, with Teja Bell.
Experience in-forming yourself through the practices of sitting meditation in zazen, and movement in qi gonge--the liberation of living from your True Nature.  Being yourself with authenticity and integrity is the great work of a lifetime.  Edward and Teja will share their nearly 100 years of zen and qi gong practice for cultivating qi and manifesting it with clarity and balance so that "you are you," with "no more worry about not being perfect."  We will have periods of zazen, qi gong, kinhin, outdoor walking meditation, dharma talks, discussion, visiting, and other practices we may dream up--including energy awareness practices.  Participants will develop more intimate connection between mind and body, that is we will be "re-incarnating" into our bodies so that more parts of the body are awake, alive, and participating.  Also honoring Dogen's statement that "the true human body is the entire universe."  Participants will find that they have a stronger felt-sense and more flowing energy, along with increased awareness of ground, core, and wholesome boundaries.
Information about visiting Tassajara is available here. Mail and online reservations begin February 14, 2017.
